User Interviews: what participants should know
User Interviews, now part of UserTesting, lists paid studies you apply to with a short screener, and researchers make every selection. When the platform pays, rewards come through Tremendous within days, and its pages describe no participant fee.

The facts
| Who can join | Adults 18+ (16+ with a parent's or guardian's consent) living in one of 34 listed countries, with a mobile number that can receive texts (no VoIP). |
|---|---|
| Study types | 1-on-1 interviews, online and in-person sessions, focus groups, diary studies, surveys and unmoderated tests (some run by UserTesting). |
| Typical pay (User Interviews' own ranges) | Interviews about $20–$300+, focus groups $40–$200+, diary studies $55–$400+, in-person $40–$1,000+. It says the average study pays over $45. |
| Fees | None described for participants. |
| How you're paid | When the platform pays: digital gift cards, prepaid rewards or a charity donation through Tremendous. When the researcher pays directly, they choose the method. |
| When | 'Most incentives are issued within a day or two'; researchers have up to 10 business days. Studies run by UserTesting pay after 14 days. |
| Verification | Mobile phone verification is required; LinkedIn verification is optional. The company describes ongoing fraud checks. |
| How selection works | You apply to each study through its screener, and the researcher decides. Approved participants book a time. |
| Rules worth knowing | Keep study details (including who the researcher is) confidential. Give 24 hours' notice to cancel; no-shows can be barred. Deleting your account before redeeming forfeits the reward. |
| Referral programme | Friend referrals ($10 each, $30 for featured studies) and a separate participant affiliate programme for publishers. |
